This emulsion coater (45 cm) is the essential tool for the even application of photo emulsion to the screen mesh of a screen printing frame. The double-sided edge allows the emulsion layer to be applied thinly or thickly, depending on the application – ideal for various screen printing applications such as textile or paper printing.

The trough is ideally suited for coating A2 screen printing frames in portrait format as well as A3 screen printing frames in landscape format . Its 45 cm width allows for coating the screen in a single, even pass – for clean printing stencils and precise printing results.

Double-sided coating edge for different emulsion thicknesses

The coating trough has two edges with different application amounts:

• Thin side: Standard coating for most screen printing applications (textile printing and paper printing)
• Thick side: For a stronger emulsion layer – ideal for high paint application, e.g., white paint on dark textiles

A thicker emulsion layer allows for a greater ink application when squeegeeing. Note that the exposure time for screen exposure may change accordingly.

Application of the coating trough

The photographic emulsion is poured into the trough and then evenly applied to the screen mesh. Important: The coating must be done under yellow light , as daylight or strong artificial light can prematurely expose the emulsion.
