This is what you need for screen printing

To create your first screen print, you'll need some screen printing supplies, which you'll find in our screen printing kits. As described in our How to make a screen print guide, you can get started with very little equipment and create stunning screen prints on textiles and other materials.

Here is the list of required materials:

  • Screen printing frame

    The frame is THE essential component for screen printing. It is usually made of metal or wood and is already covered with screen mesh. The stencil is created on this frame using photo emulsion.

  • Screen printing squeegee

    The squeegee is another important component. It is used to force the screen printing ink through the stencil onto your material.

  • Emulsion scoop coater and photo emulsion

    The emulsion scoop coater applies the light-sensitive photographic emulsion to the screen. This emulsion forms the basis for creating a stencil.

  • Film or foil

    Your completely black design on a foil or film. This will transfer your design to the screen printing frame, creating the stencil during exposure.

  • Strong light source

    LED spotlights, halogen spotlights or even sunlight can expose the dried photo emulsion

  • Screen printing ink

    Once the stencil is complete, you can print with screen printing ink. This is the only ink that doesn't dry into the screen mesh.
