Inkjet screen printing film DIN A3 – high blackness, clear exposure

Our unprinted, single-sided coated A3 screen printing films (297 × 420 mm) are slightly milky and specially designed to produce deep black film positives. This allows you to expose your screen printing stencils quickly and reproducibly in the studio or for DIY projects.

The coating on the print side absorbs significantly more ink than ordinary transparent films. This ensures high optical density (Dmax), precise edges, and reliably closed surfaces – often with just a single print.

This is how you achieve the best results

1. Correct side: The slightly matte/roughened side is the printing side (feels minimally sticky).
2. Mirroring: Print film positives in reverse so that the ink faces the emulsion during exposure.
3. Print settings:
   • Media type " Foil" or " Photo paper/High resolution" , Quality " Best"
   • Select photo black or matte black (if available) for maximum density.
   • High resolution, e.g. 1440 dpi or higher
4. Allow to dry: Dry the printout flat, do not wipe.
5. Exposure: Place the film with the ink side onto the coated screen side – good contact is crucial.

Practical tips for extra black density

• If possible: deactivate color management and select " more black "/" print darker "; slightly increase contrast.
• Do not use laser printers – heat can damage the film and the device.
• For extremely fine details, place two identical positives on top of each other (usually not necessary).
• Store in a dust-free, flat and dry place; do not touch the printed side with your fingers.

Why special inkjet films?

Standard films hold less ink, resulting in lower density, longer exposure times, and blurry stencils. Our A3 films are designed to securely hold more ink , delivering maximum density and sharpness for reproducible exposures.
