This coating trough with a 14.5 cm working width is specially designed for our mini screen printing screens. It allows for the clean and controlled application of photo emulsion to the screen printing mesh, creating a uniform stencil layer – the basis for precise printing results in small formats.

The trough is double-sided . This allows you to control the thickness of the emulsion layer. This is particularly useful when you have different printing requirements – for example, when printing on textiles or with designs that require a higher ink coverage.

One side produces a thinner coating, the other a thicker one. This allows you to flexibly decide which coating thickness is best suited for your sieve, depending on the project.

To coat the emulsion, pour it directly into the trough and then spread it evenly over the mesh of your mini screen printing frame. It is essential to perform this step under yellow light . Normal daylight or strong artificial light can overexpose the emulsion prematurely.

When do you use the thinner or the thicker coating side?

The thinner side is suitable for most standard applications, such as printing on paper or normal textile printing. A uniform, rather thin emulsion layer is perfectly sufficient here.

The thicker side is used when you want to create a thicker stencil. This can be useful, for example, when printing light colors onto dark fabrics. The thicker emulsion layer allows more ink to be transferred through the screen later.

Note that with a thicker coating, the exposure time must also be adjusted . To determine the appropriate time, a step exposure with several test patches is recommended.

The 14.5 cm emulsion coater is optimally designed for our mini screen printing screens and enables convenient coating in a small format.

The gutter is supplied with two black or white rubber protective caps. Please remove these before first use.
